At the condemning which held yesterday January 23rd, the examiner, Emmanuel Awe, told the court that Umaru, a wedded man, was a Private in the Nigerian Army and was presented with the Special Task Force, Sector 7, Barkin Ladi, when he killed Thomas in January 2016. As indicated by Awe, Charity who lived in Kaduna state, visited Umaru in Plateau state and keeping in mind that she was there, Umaru looked through her telephone and found an instant message with an affection pitch from a man. In resentment, he wounded Charity with a blade in the stomach, butchered her body and after that dumped it by the roadside.

He was blamed for executing his darling, Charity, who visited him from Kaduna, by cutting her with a blade in the stomach, butchering her from there on, and dumping the body by the roadside.

Officers in the dormitory got wind of his malevolent demonstration and captured him. Over the span of the examination, a few violent photos of the expired was found in Umaru's telephone. He was attempted and later rejected by the Ar,my after he was discovered liable.

Conveying judgment, Justice S. P. Pack expressed that Umaru "brutally ended the life of Charity Thomas without a second thought" and needed to confront the full load of the law.

He said; “This sentence is mandatory; the law states that any person convicted of murder shall be punished with death by hanging. The sentence of this court upon you is that you, Sunday Umaru, will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy on your soul.”
