Dillian Whyte set to fight Dominic Breazeale as WBC order interim title clash

Dillian Whyte is set to battle Dominic Breazeale after the WBC request an interim title in the heavyweight division.

Whyte has been waiting on news of a battle since talks among him and Anthony Joshua over a rematch collapsed.

With the heavyweight division waiting on the rematch of Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, the WBC moved to fill a void.

Breazeale respected a clash with Whyte earlier this month, saying he felt the battle would appease the boxing fans.

He said: 'I trust he makes some sort of deal with the PBC, if not some kind of a deal with the workforce that's around for me and him making a battle.

'Individuals have talked about it for some time. I am a fan-pleasing sort of fellow, so if that's what the fans want to see, I'm all for it.

At the same time, I'm not going to pass up chances to battle for the WBC title, to go down there to battle Dillian Whyte. I trust he makes some sort of a deal.

'He can come here to the United States and he can get all he wants of Dominic Breazeale.'
